
Callum Hemming and Estelle van Leeuwen claimed a bronze medal at the Denmark Challenge in Farum.
A bye in the first round was followed by a straightforward win over Indonesia’s Nikolaus Joaquin and Siti Sarah Azzahra, triumphing 21-12 21-12.
The pair then took on Marvin Seidel and Thuc Phuong Nguyen of Germany, winning 21-15 21-18 to reach the last four.
There they faced Zaidan Arrafi Awal Nabawi and Jessica Maya Rismawardani, losing 21-17 21-13 to the eventual champions.
Reflecting on their campaign, van Leeuwen said: “We have mixed feelings about the podium finish this week in Denmark.
“I think we both expected more from our semi-final performance, especially me, as I felt I had a pretty below-standard match.
“However, in the other two matches our level was high and we beat two strong pairs fairly comfortably, which is always nice to do!”
Rory Easton and Lizzie Tolman, and Oliver Butler and Abbygael Harris also received byes to the second round.
Butler and Harris lost out 21-12 21-15 to Chinese Taipei’s Lin Bing-Wei and Lee Chih Chen but Easton and Tolman advanced 21-18 21-15 against French pair Natan Begga and Tea Margueritte.

Their run also came to an end against an Indonesian duo – Raymond Indra and Rinjani Kwinara Nastine – as they were beaten 21-11 16-21 21-15 in the quarter-final.
Harry Huang comfortably defeated Rithvik Sanjeevi Satish Kumar of India 21-18 21-12 in the first round of the men’s singles.
He then suffered a narrow defeat over three games to home hope Jakob Houe, losing 21-12 17-21 21-19.
After receiving a bye in the first round of the men’s doubles, Rory Easton and Alex Green battled to a 22-20 16-21 21-16 loss to eventual finalists Yuto Noda and Shunya Ota of Japan
Also in the men’s doubles, Oliver Butler and Samuel Jones lost out 21-11 21-16 to Huang Tsung-I and Lin Ting-Yu.
In the women’s doubles, Abbygael Harris and Lizzie Tolman fell on the wrong side of a close match against Mariya Mitsova and Kaloyana Nalbantova, losing 21-16 12-21 21-15.
