Badminton England Volunteer Awards

Overview & Background Information

To recognise the phenomenal work of our voluntary workforce, Badminton England present two awards annually; the YONEX Young Volunteer of the Year and YONEX Volunteer of the Year. These prestigious titles are awarded to two volunteers who have stood out in demonstrating undoubted passion, commitment and dedication to badminton in the last twelve months and had a positive impact and influence on others’ experience within the sport.

  • The two categories which are open for nominations this year are for the YONEX Young Volunteer of the Year (13-18yrs) and the YONEX Volunteer of the Year (19 years and above). This year’s nominations should be to recognise the volunteer’s contributions and ongoing commitment to badminton specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards are targeted towards those who have used new and innovative methods to keep their clubs and players engaged in badminton during the lockdown period.

Nominations are now closed and the winners of each award will be announced during the Volunteer Awards Presentation webinar, as part of Badminton England’s virtual National Volunteer Conference, on Saturday 11th September 2021.
