Last Sunday marked the debut of the U13 Babolat Cup.
A successfully held tournament saw winners from their particular counties have the chance to play against each other to be the champion of champions.
Head of Competition as Badminton England did a terrific job at putting the event together with UK Sales Manager for Babolat, Pete Mills.
The competition would see two different groups for each gender and the winner of each group would face each other in the final.
With plenty of prize and opportunities to be played for, it wasn’t an opportunity to take lightly.

The first set of games would kick-off at 10:00am and would carry through all the way to lunchtime, as all up-and-coming stars give their all to fight for their place from the group stage into the final two.
Everybody in the arena would receive a big surprise just after lunch, as Badminton England star and Commonwealth medallist, Chloe Birch would make a special appearance to do multiple activities with the youngsters.
After a Q&A session, some free Babolat merchandise and also being able to play three-points of badminton with the England player it was time for all the young badminton players to get back to cup action.
After a further hour of group games, it would come down to only four competitors to battle it our for Babolat Cup gold.
After two very competitive finals it would be Berkshire that saw themselves take gold in both male and female U13 events as Rooney and Abby would both win all group their group and knockout matches.
After a successful day at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre, Badminton England and Babolat will be looking forward to collaborating more in the future to provide more opportunities for the youth to thrive in future events.
