Big Hit Newcastle 1200x410 1

It is that time of year again – The Big Hit is back.

The week-long celebration of everything badminton returns between September 21-28.

With kids heading back to school and students once again leaving for university, Badminton England’s club-focused festival aims to get more people than ever before taking part in the nation’s number one racket sport.

The festival not only aims to raise the profile of the game but also give a big boost to the grassroots level, as clubs welcome back members following the summer as well as introducing new players into the badminton family.

During The Big Hit Week, facilities up and down England will be opening their doors with access to a range of family events, outdoor badminton tournaments, social evenings, and even just the chance to hit a shuttlecock with a friend.

As sport continues to move out of the pandemic, players from across the country have the perfect opportunity to get back on court, with local clubs throwing opens their doors.

So whether you are new to the game or looking to get back on court following an extended break and reignite your love for badminton – get involved.

Some of our clubs and venues will be running open days to encourage first-time players, while selected clubs and venues that run a junior coaching programme will be opening up to non-members.

If you’re taking part in any Big Hit sessions, let us know on social media – just remember to hashtag #TheBigHit.
