Silver spoon mementos

spoonsIn the past silver memento spoons were awarded to winners of the English National Tournaments and the also the All England Junior Tournaments. The spoons awarded to winners have crossed rackets and badge and are larger than the runner up spoon which have the crossed rackets but no badge. On the reverse is engraved the date, type of tournament and winner or runner up.

Winner spoons are 14 cms. long, while the runner up spoons are 13 cms.

The National Badminton Museum at Milton Keynes has examples of spoons awarded for the English Nationals and also the Junior National tournaments, donated by Audrey Stone and Peter Gardner..
