All England miniature trophies

all england trophiesThe National Badminton museum in Milton Keynes was able to purchase two miniature trophies which were awarded to winners to keep at the All England Championships in the past.

Each trophy is about 5 inches high and engraved All England Badminton Championships – Men’s Doubles, one for March 1924 and one for March 1928. The 1928 cup has F. Hodge also engraved on the cup. Frank Hodge also won the men’s doubles in 1921 playing with Sir George Thomas, but it is not known if a cup was awarded on that occasion.

Frank Hodge played for Surrey and Middlesex and represented England 18 times between 1919 and 1933, and a profile is included in our list of early players –
