At the beginning of the 1908-9 badminton season F.H.Ayres, Ltd of 111 Aldersgate Street, London advertised three new badminton rackets, which included the “Standard” (Fishtail Handle).

Describing this model - The application of the fish tail handle to Badminton Bats is an innovation that will recommend itself to many players, affording as it does a firm and comfortable hold.

Fish tail tennis rackets had been produced for several years previously and become available on auction sites at the present time, but badminton fish tail rackets are much rarer suggesting that they soon went out of fashion.

The National Badminton Museum does not have this type of racket and if anyone can supply further information of how one could be obtained we would be pleased to receive details.
