Return To Play

Updated 13/05/2021 – draft guidance

We are waiting for Government to publish its guidance for the safe return of sport under Step 3 of its roadmap. Normally, we do not publish our guidance until the Government has released its guidance to ensure we provide you with up to date and accurate information. However, we also recognise that the badminton community needs as much advance notice as possible of the guidance to enable you to plan and organise your return, so we are publishing our guidance as draft to assist you.

The document reflects our extensive discussions with DCMS and Sport England and provides a basis for you to plan your return to play – as such, we do not anticipate changes, but we will confirm our final guidance as soon as Government publishes its guidance.

If you have any queries at all, or if you need any help to get you or your club back on court please get in touch. We appreciate that some within the badminton community may be facing frustrations in terms of accessing their facility to be able to return. If this is the case please contact our Venue Feedback Form so we explore potential support we might be able to provide.

For now, we hope those who are able to return to court enjoy their first time back, and the rest of you continue to stay safe.

We have collated a range of tools and resources to support clubs, coaches and players to get safely back on court

To support the return to coaching we have produced a toolkit with arrange of resources to help your safe return to court.

We have produced some easy and simple to follow resources for schools to support delivery in both Primary and Secondary schools.

To help as many volunteers return following the Covid19 pandemic, we have put together an interactive resource section within our Badminton Resource Hub, with volunteer-specific research, guidance and templates for clubs, counties and anyone else managing volunteers.

We know how important it is to be able to access your facility so help us to help you by telling us more information about your local venue and it’s current availability.

We know that you will have questions about how you can safely get back on court, so have compiled a list of your most Frequently Asked Questions.

We know that clubs and coaches have suffered financially due to Covid-19, so have identified some funding streams that may be able to support you.

To help support all of our coaches, clubs and players to get back on court this summer we are currently reviewing membership for 2020/21 and beyond.
