We have seen a noted impact in the number of young people engaging in badminton with a total of 391,500 participating once a week. Through our club investment programme we have supported approx. 100 clubs to increase their junior capacity resulting in an increase in new junior members. The support from Badminton England is also providing clubs with the opportunity to build valuable relationships with schools to support their ongoing sustainability.
Here are a few examples of what clubs have achieved through our support grants.

Our grant investment programme is also helping clubs to provide more targeted sessions for those who want to play more casually. Through these sessions we are already seeing an impact in the number of new participants taking part resulting in an increase of members.
“We set up a ladies only session on a casual pay and play basis as we wanted to get more females into the sport. This has been going from strength to strength, we initially had around 14 coming every week but now we have around 20-22. We have also increased the court time from 1 hour to 2 hours as people wanted to carry on playing”.
