Membership 

Q: What are you doing about membership?  

A number of our members are asking us about the effect that the lockdown and lack of badminton will have on membership fees this year and next. Many of your will have had either refunds, ‘freezes’ or extensions from other services you subscribe to and we are looking at all options for players, clubs and coaches. One thing that we do want to do is ensure that we give everyone full value for their fee. 

Members are vital to the growth and sustainability of our sport and the fees you pay enable us to govern the sport in the country, represent our sport to key stakeholders, including Government, provide access and promote badminton for all at every level and increase the visibility of our sport, develop a strong player pathway and competition structure and ultimately win medals.  

Over the last couple of months, we’ve been talking to our clubs, coaches and members to understand the impact of COVID-19 and the support they will require when we look to restart play. It is our upmost priority to support the badminton community to get back on court, firstly by setting out what play will need to look like under social distancing restrictions, and then understanding how this will impact clubs and any further assistance they may need. 

We will make further announcements when we are in a more informed position to resume play. I hope you and your families are remaining to keep safe, enjoying #BEatHome and getting involved when and where you can.
