National Coach: Anthony Clark

Anthony Clark | Freelance Coach | Badminton England

National Coach

Badminton England has supported me from the age of 14, firstly as a junior player and then as a professional athlete. Without Badminton England’s help and support, I couldn’t have achieved what I have as an athlete.

I can’t tell you how grateful I am for everything Badminton England has done for me over the years. I therefore naturally wanted to work for the organization that has given me so much. It’s now my passion to help Badminton England grow and continue to produce World Class athletes.

As an athlete I represented England for 31 years, achieving 106 caps, 7 Commonwealth medals, 9 European medals, 2 World Silver medals and a Sudirman Cup Bronze.
My coaching CV consists of time spent as Nottingham University Coach, Notts County Coach, Leicester PC Head Coach, Suffolk Saxons Head Coach, Anthony Clark Academy Head Coach and now Badminton England National Coach.

My career highlight as an athlete will be my 2 Silver medals at the 2006 World Champs.

As a coach, so far I have lead players to win the Thailand Open Gold, Semi finals at the YONEX All England Open and 2 Golds and a Silver at the European Games.

At the age of 14 I was awarded an award for bravery having saved my Mum’s life in the Sea at Benidorm.
