This week our England para-badminton stars face their final Paralympic qualification opportunity, as they take to the courts at the Spanish Para Badminton International.

The four players arrived in Spain at the weekend and are raring to return to elite competition after such a tumultuous year.

On the opening day of the event, in the SH6 classification, second seed Krysten Coombs faces Hector Jesus Salva Tunque of Peru.

Also in group B are Russian Alexander Mekhdiev and France’s Charles Noakes.

In the same classification, top seed Jack Shepard is in group A and will face Fabien Morat of France and the USA’s Miles Krajewski from tomorrow.

In group C, Isaak Dalglish will face Spain’s Ivan Segura Escobar on Tuesday.

In the SL3 classification, Daniel Bethell, top seed, will come up against Maurin Stubi of Switzerland and Peru’s Pedro Pablo De Vinatea.
Second seed Martin Rooke will face Spain’s Ignacio Fernandez and Ramadan Mohmmad Nezar of Kuwait as he begins his campaign in the WH2 group B event.

The Palacio de los Deportes de Cartagena will be where the Paralympic dreams could be secured for many players and we wish our England squad the best of luck this week.
