Disability Classifications

Disability badminton includes Para-Badminton which is the International and Paralympic recognised categories set according to the Badminton World Federation’s Para-Badminton classifications. For tournaments with categories for learning disabled players, players will be eligible if they have an IQ of 75 or less. Players of any standard are welcome to enter events. Some tournaments may require players must be classified (BWF classifications), which will be stated in the tournaments Terms and Conditions, and usually available at the tournament unless otherwise stated.

Learning DisabilityLDIQ of 75 or lower, who have been identified as having a learning disability by a relevent agency or professional.

*These are given as an example – final classification will be based on a full classification process at an event and may differ to the suggestion in this guide.
