Junior National Championships

The 2024 Junior National Championships will be staged through November and December 2024:

  • Under 19 Nationals      16th & 17th November at National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes
  • Under 13 Nationals      23rd & 24th November at National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes
  • Under 15 Nationals      7th & 8th December at David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham
  • Under 11 Nationals      8th December at David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham
  • Under 17 Nationals      15th & 16th December at National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes

1. Age Eligibility 2023​

  • U19: Born 2005 or later / U17: Born 2007 or later / U15: Born 2009 or later / U13: Born 2011 or later.

2. Meets all of the following criteria:

  • Member of and in good standing with Badminton England. A player must have a minimum of a valid and current ‘Play’ membership to be able to enter the competition
  • Does not enter the National Championships of any other Country in the same year
  • Has not represented any other BWF Member Association for three years immediately preceding the date of the tournament.

3. Meets one of the following national eligibility criteria:

  • Born in England or parent born in England (and that parent lived in England for a period of 3 continuous years).
  • If neither the player nor parents were born in the U.K., then holds a UK British Citizen Passport, and that player may select to represent England if they have not previously represented Scotland, Ireland or Wales in the last 3 years.
  • Be resident in England at the time of entry and have been resident in England for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Last represented England. A player shall be deemed to have represented England if he or she shall have been officially nominated by Badminton England for a Badminton Europe or Badminton World Federation accredited event and shall have accepted.

To qualify for the U17/15/13 National Championships a player must have played a minimum of 3 sanctioned circuit tournaments or be selected to represent England. There are no qualifying events applicable for entry to the U19 National Championships.

Qualification requirements may be waived. Application must be made in writing and include supporting evidence (exceptional circumstances only e.g.: – illness or injury), to competition@badmintonengland.co.uk at Badminton England.
