The 25-year-old beat Rachel Sugden of Scotland in the first round, defeating the seventh seed 22-20 21-5.

Ngan won eight consecutive points in the first game to build a healthy lead before Sugden came roaring back to fend off seven game points.

Against Samanta Golubickaite of Lithuania in the second round, Ngan fought back from a game down to win 17-21 22-20 21-12.
