Following the Special Olympics European Summer Games, each player returned home with an amazing two medals.
81 athletes from 17 countries packed into the badminton hall for a week of intense competition, which eventually saw the English contingent walk away with two Bronze medals, one silver and two Gold medals.
Emily Eyre secured bronze in the women’s singles and Adrian Hickman in the men’s singles before adding a silver medal alongside Laura Ferguson in the mixed doubles. Laura then proceeded to win gold in the women’s singles and Emily Eyre also managed to make it to the top of the podium, winning the women’s doubles alongside Dianne Gillan (Scotland).
