Slovak Open preview: English cohort out in force

A strong English contingent have headed to Europe vying to claim the Slovak Open 2020 crown in Trencin, Slovakia.

Two of the young stars are in the women’s singles while six more players will battle through qualification to make the main draw.

Emily Beach and Freya Redfearn are in round one of the women’s singles and will face Germany’s Miranda Wilson and Moldova’s Vlada Ginga, respectively.

In qualification Grace King will go head to head with Tereza Kobylakova and Natalia Mitchell comes up against Valeriya Rudakova.

Elsewhere an English quartet are seeking a place in the main draw of the men’s singles.

It will be a challenge as 64 players get whittled down to just eight who will make it through to the first round proper.

David Jones begins his campaign against Miha Ivancic while Johnnie Torjussen starts his competition facing Marcus Boman.

Ethan Rose will battle against Andraz Krapez, as Harry Huang takes on Jaka Ivancic.
