England's Panuga Riou is celebrating one of her best women's singles performances after winning the Victor Slovak Open title in Presov today- her first international senior title.
The second seed from Hampshire dropped just one game in five matches on the way to the title.
That came in the third round when she overcame sixth seed Laura Sarosi of Hungary 21-16 16-21 21-1.
In the semi-final she eased past another Hungarian, Daniella Gonda, 21-13 21-9 before taking the title with a 21-16 21-11 win over Kirsten Van Der Valk.
That avenged England team-mate Sarah Milne's semi-final defeat by the Dutch player. Fifth seed Milne fell 21-16 21-14 to unseeded Van Der Valk.
In the men's singles emerging Alex Lane produced three hard-fought wins on the way to the semi-final before losing 21-12 21-9 to seventh seed Vitaly Konov of Ukraine.
The young Devonian had to survive two three-game contests in his opening matches then defeated Lukas Zevi 22-20 22-20 in the quarter-finals.
The pick of his wins was a 19-21 21-6 21-9 second-round victory over sixth seed Anton Ivanov of Russia.
