English interest ended at the Peru Para-Badminton international as Martin Rooke and Krysten Coombs both lost in the last four.
In the men’s WH2 singles, Rooke began the tournament with two convincing victories in the group stages.
The second seed began with a 21-17 21-13 win over Thailand’s Aphichat Sumpradit and followed that up by beating Mexico’s Arturo Zambrano Alejo 21-5 21-3.
It was another straightforward encounter in the last eight as Rooke got the better of Thailand’s Junthong Dumnern; however, in the semi-final the English star was beaten by 5/8 seed Daiki Kajiwara losing 21-12 21-13.
There was a similar story in the men’s SH6 singles as Coombs also sailed through his two group matches beating Justin Kendrick and Jake Petruzzelli.
In the last eight, the second seed made light work of his match beating Chen Yi-Ying 21-8 21-13.
But, Coombs exited in the semi-finals after being edged out in a three-game thriller by Brazil’s Vitor Goncalves Tavares 17-21 21-19 21-12.
