Badminton stars recognised at Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards

Rajeev Bagga, who recently claimed the Over 40’s Men’s Singles title at the European Senior Championships to add to his All England Veterans crown, has been nominated for Deaf Sports Personality of the Year. This crowns another excellent year for Rajeev, who picked up Silver in the Men’s Singles of the 2009 Deaflympics in Taipei.

Xander Hurley has been recognised for his work coaching both the GB Deaf Squad and youngsters all over Oxfordshire with a nomination for the Coach of the Year award. Hurley, who reached the Men’s Doubles Quarter Finals of the European Deaf Badminton Championships in Bulgaria in May, coaches with the U13’s, U15’s and U17’s for Oxfordshire.

The Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards 2010 takes place at Wembley Stadium on the 27th November. Details can be found by clicking here.
