Amateur teams do battle in Red Bull Badminton Super Final

BADMINTON England and Red Bull China have teamed up to host a very special event, showcasing some of the best amateur badminton talent the two countries have to offer, at the Central Hall in Westminster, London on 6 August 2012.

The Red Bull Badminton Super Final will see the top amateur sides from North and South China play one another in Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles team competition for the right to be named the amateur club champions of China.

The winners will then turn attentions to do battle on court with 2011/12 season Inter County Championship title holders, Surrey, who are likely to feature Team England young gun Toby Penty alongside the familiar names of Sam Ward, Matt Honey and Sam Phillips.

The Red Bull London Super Final takes place on the 6th August - the day after the Olympic badminton finals come to a close - and it is scheduled that select members of the Chinese Olympic team will make an appearance for “An audience with Team China” with special off court entertainment provided by World Champion, Lin Dan and Chinese Head coach, Li Yongbo.

There will be additional special entertainment between matches.
