Adcocks point to form frustrations in Asia

Commonwealth Games and European champion Gabby Adcock admitted it had been ‘a frustrating tour’ after a 3 week spell in Asia on the World Tour in which the world top 10 pair showed fleeting glimpses of their world class talent but struggled for top gear.

Despite a tour-opening victory over 2016 YONEX All England champion Lu Kai in Tokyo, the Adcocks ended with a trio of Round two exits from events in Japan, China and Korea in which they were well seeded.

Speaking through her Instagram account to her army of international fans, Gabby said “Frustrating tour! (We) Haven’t played how we know we can.  We will be back with a few good weeks of training to what we know what we capable of‘.

Chris reassured his global fan base that the pair will come back stronger:  “Sometimes you have to say it how it is.

“Pretty poor tour from us this time around, we know we can be much better! And we will be for sure! More fuel to the fire!!!

The world number nine pair head into a training block before returning to World Tour action at the Super 750 Denmark Open next month where they face Niclas Nohr and Sara Thygeson.

The return to Europe, with the French Open Super 750 to follow in October, was welcomed by Gabby, who added “(It is) Always nice to play so close to home! Time to get ready for that. SIMPLE | AS.”
