How Twitter reacted to Adcock bronze

When Chris and Gabby Adcock won bronze at the BWF World Championships, it continued a memorable year for the mixed doubles stars, following on from their European gold in April.

They quickly took to Twitter to share their excitement, and here’s how social media reacted.

The stars themselves

The Adcocks’ joy was clear for all to see as they won the final point against Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet, running into each other’s arms before embracing their family in the crowd.

A first world medal together was a momentous occasion, and one they will remember for the rest of their lives. And while the semi-final didn’t go the way they had hoped, they took great pride in their brilliant bronze.

Support team

But while the medals were hung around Chris and Gabby’s necks, it was the result of years of hard work not just by the players themselves, but the support team around them – including their coaches.

It was an incredibly proud moment too for the whole of Badminton England, summed up perfectly by chief executive Adrian Christy.
