Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh will aim to finish their junior career together by lifting the under-19 English National Badminton Championships title this week.
Lane and Pugh will be defending their title in Milton Keynes and have been top-seeded in the mixed doubles for their last under-19 Championship together.
The pair are a burgeoning partnership on the international doubles scene already and are seeded to meet Matthew Clare and Nicola Gresty in the final on February 14.
Lane will be hoping to retain two titles this weekend. Last year, he teamed up with Sean Vendy as the pair lifted the men’s doubles title. This time, he has been seeded top alongside Clare.
Ira Banerjee and Libby McMorrow are favourites in the women’s doubles, but they will have their work cut with Kirby Ngan and Pugh seeded second.
Oliver Thompson and Ngan, who will feature for England at the European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships later this month, are top seeds in the men’s and women’s singles respectively.
The action gets under way on Friday and runs through until Sunday.
