Jack Shephard led the English charge at the Spanish Para-Badminton International with two titles at the seventh edition of the event.
Overall there were four titles won by English players, with two other runner-up finishes as the men’s SS6 singles final was an all-English affair.
Second seed Shephard won that, beating top seed Krysten Coombs 21-15 21-19 in the final after overcoming Hong Kong’s Man Kai Chu 21-18 21-15 in the final four.
Coombs had beaten Isaak Dalglish in the other semi-final, meaning three of the four semi-finalists were English.
Shephard’s other title came when he teamed up with Coombs in the SS6 doubles, the pair beating Chu and Chun Yin Wong 21-18 21-10.
And again it was a strong showing from England’s players with the winners having overcome Dalglish and Andrew Martin 22-20 21-18 in a closely-fought semi-final.
Martin did get his hands on a trophy, though, this time in the SS6 mixed doubles alongside Rachel Choong.
The English duo beat Anglo-French pairing Rebecca Bedford and Fabien Morat 21-15 21-13 in the final, with that duo having beaten Dalglish and Daria Bujnicka 21-15 21-16 in their semi-final.
Choong’s other result saw her finish as a runner-up in the SS6 women’s singles having beaten compatriot Bedford in the semi-final.
That 21-10 21-18 victory set up a final against Peru’s Carmen Giuliana Poveda Flores, with the English player forced to retire after losing a tight opening game 24-22.
England’s other win came thanks to Daniel Bethell in the SL3 men’s singles, with the second seed upsetting Japanese first seed Daisuke Fujihara 21-11 21-13 in the final.
