So, to remember all the best bits, we've put together the highlights of the year, starting with January through to March.
The New Year started in style for England’s stars as titles aplenty came their way.
Chris and Gabby Adcock enjoyed phenomenal success with the Chennai Smashers as they won India’s Premier Badminton League, with Rajiv Ouseph’s Hyderabad Hunters narrowly missing out on reaching the final.
Later in the month, Toby Penty won his first title of the year at the Swedish International – his first ever singles crown on the European circuit.
February saw the European Mixed Team Championships get underway, with England forced to settle for bronze.
The team – the Adcocks, Penty, Chris Langridge, Marcus Ellis, Chloe Birch, Lauren Smith and Sarah Walker – lost to eventual runners-up Russia in the semi-finals.
March was the month everyone had been waiting for as the YONEX All England rolled into Birmingham, welcoming the very best of world badminton to English shores.
In reaching the semi-finals, the Adcocks stunned the reigning Olympic champions, Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir, but they missed out on a place in the final at the hands of China’s Lu Kai and Huang Yaqiong.
The following week, Langridge and Ellis progressed to the last four of the Swiss Open, as did the Adcocks at the India Open.
Elsewhere, Yorkshire won the County Championship title, while Suffolk was named County of the Year at the National Badminton Awards.
In a landmark announcement, the BWF today launched its remodelled world tour and presented global banking giant HSBC as its Principal Global Partner in a sponsorship deal that will catapult badminton to unprecedented heights.
