English Badminton Award

English Badminton Award

The English Badminton Award was instituted in 1993 for long standing exceptional service to badminton in England. A list of recipients of the English Badminton Award can be found in The Book (a document containing facts, figures and useful information about badminton) under the Facts & Records section.

How do I nominate someone?

To nominate someone for an English Badminton Award (EBA) please contact your County Badminton Association (CBA). The CBA must submit the nomination using the nomination form, a copy of which can be found here (Word version - recommended for filling in online) or (PDF version - recommended for printing).

The completed nomination form should be sent to the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive at Badminton England, using EA@badmintonengland.co.uk or National Badminton Centre, Bradwell Road, Milton Keynes, MK8 9LA.

What happens once I have submitted a nomination?

Upon receipt of the form an acknowledgement will be sent to the nominator. The nomination will then be passed to the Badminton England Honours Committee for consideration. Please note that nominations will be collated and considered in phases; February, May and September.

What happens if/once the nomination is successful?

Once a decision has been made on whether to award the individual, the nominator will be contacted. If successful, arrangements will be made for the nominee to receive the prestigious English Badminton Award. The presentation of the award is usually made by a member of the Honours Committee at an event/meeting organised by the nominating CBA, such as an Annual General Meeting.

The nominee will receive a certificate and a small pin badge. Their details will also be recorded and published on the Badminton England website, and the Annual Report.
