Harry Huang was edged out in the opening round of the Azerbaijan International 2024 after falling to India’s Ansh Vishal Gupta.
Huang, almost a week on from winning his first title at the English National Badminton Championships, lost 21-12 21-17 in the round of 32.
The 22-year-old travelled to Baku off the back of the Championships, a three-game epic he described as one of the most physically challenging matches he has ever played in.
He will head to Poland next for the European Men’s Team Championships to compete as part of a strong squad that includes doubles pair Ben Lane and Sean Vendy.
The England team secured their place at the European Team Championships with a dominant series of performances on home soil in December and will travel to Lodz full of confidence.
