Harry Huang claimed a landmark tournament victory at the Egypt International in Cairo.

This was Huang’s maiden international win and comes in his first full season on the senior circuit.

He edged out Yanis Gaudin of France 21-11 9-21 22-20 in a 58-minute epic to emerge victorious at Cairo Stadium.

Huang saved one of his best displays of the week for last, also impressing in a three-game comeback triumph over UAE’s Somi Romdhani in the quarter-finals.

England’s Nadeem Dalvi and Jonathan McDonald also featured in the men’s singles draw, exiting in the second round.

In women’s singles, Commonwealth Games athlete Freya Redfearn showed glimpses of her best form in reaching the semi-finals.

Her campaign came to an end at the hands of Romane Cloteaux-Foucault, the French player nicking a tight opening game and going on to win 22-20 21-16.

McDonald and Matt Jenkins combined for a first-round win in men’s doubles but found the sixth seeds too hot to handle in the second round.
