England head to the European Men’s Team Championships with a strong squad set for the tournament in Lodz, Poland.

The Championships, hosted by Badminton Europe, crown the best men’s and women’s teams on the continent and England last medalled at the event with silver in 2018, in a squad which included men’s doubles pair Ben Lane and Sean Vendy.

After securing qualification with a dominant series of performances on home soil in December, England’s men boast a squad with a mix of youth and experience.

Lane and Vendy will be in action in the men’s doubles, hoping a strong performance in Europe can kick off a successful 2024 with the YONEX All England Championships also fast approaching.

Newly-crowned national men’s singles champion Harry Huang is part of the squad less than two weeks after his triumph in Nottingham.

He is joined by rising stars Cholan Kayan and Nadeem Dalvi while Tokyo Olympian Toby Penty returns to the fold after announcing his retirement in 2022.

Zach Russ further bolsters the squad as Callum Hemming and Ethan Van Leeuwen provide additional doubles strength.

England have been pooled in Group 2 with France, Ukraine and the Netherlands, where they will face off for a shot at the top two spots in the hope of moving onto the knockout stage.

The 2024 event will also act as a qualifier for the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals.
