It may have been a quieter month of domestic action, but June still saw a handful of tournaments take place across the country.

Here is our round-up of the best action across the past month.

U13 Gold Lancashire

Some of the best juniors from across England competed at the U13 Gold Lancashire in Manchester on June 3, with action across all five disciplines of the sport.

Adam Alam and Arjun Bhattiprolu prevailed in a tight boys’ doubles final, defeating Etienne Fan and Tsz Chai Lo 21-17 17-21 23-21, while Mudra Mayekar and Daya Variangattil beat Hayley Liow and Alicia Wang 21-18 21-12 in the girls’ doubles final.

Alam and Variangattil partnered up to win the mixed doubles crown together, beating Bhattiprolu and Mayekar 11-21 21-17 21-19 in another tight contest.

Mayekar and Chinmayi Kishor were triumphant in the two girls’ singles events taking place, while Etienne Fan and Sherman Sheung Laam Tai won the boys’ singles events.

U17 Gold Lancashire

Manchester also played host to a two-day event for U17 players across the weekend of the 24-25 June, with players from across Britain competing.

Pranavi Singh and Ishasriya Mekala won the respective girls’ singles events, with Aaren Sum and Jeff Ani Joseph triumphant in the boys’ events.

Ethan Fox and Daniel Kemp defeated Jaxon Clarke and Jayaditya Kumar 21-17 21-19 in the boys’ doubles final, while Mia Fox and Rajvi Parab overcame Anna Stewart and Kayleigh Williams 22-20 21-16 in the girls’ doubles final.

And in the mixed doubles final, Kemp and Lucy Dodd sealed a 21-9 21-9 triumph over Llwyd Crump and Scarlett O’Grady.

Disability Junior National Championships

The first ever Disability Junior National Championships took place at the English Institute for Sport in Sheffield in the middle of the month.

Young aspiring badminton players aged 11-17 got the chance to compete in a friendly, social competition with fellow para badminton players.
