What is Tier 5?
Tier 5 tournaments are a new level of competition that is being introduced to allow social players to take the first step into badminton competition. The aim for Tier 5 competitions is to give our No Strings, Social and pay and play badminton community the opportunity to compete in friendly, relaxed tournaments, and to begin their journey into competitive badminton. All tournaments will be played as doubles; the formats and scoring may differ but they will always be doubles matches.
These tournaments are aimed at players who have not competed before but are interested in getting involved and finding out what badminton competition is all about. As a result there is no requirement for participants to be Badminton England members but those with a Badminton England social/play membership will receive discounted entry on all Tier 5 tournaments.
Would you like to be an organiser?
Are you interested in finding out more about Tier 5 tournaments and how to get involved? Or perhaps you are already involved in running No Strings sessions and would like the chance to offer a Badminton England sanctioned competition to your players? We are hosting a series of webinars where we will go into more detail about Tier 5 competition as well as the process of registering the tournament and actively show you how to use our new platform Discover Badminton app.
