What is Essentials?
 
Essentials is an adult participation programme offering coaching courses to learn the badminton basics at a relaxed pace in a fun and friendly setting.
Essentials is formed of eight sessions, ideally one hour in length with a maximum of 16 candidates per course.
 
What is an Essentials Endorsed Coach?
 
With the aim of Essentials being to offer a coaching course to learn the badminton basics at a relaxed pace in a fun and friendly setting, an Essentials coach needs to be: 

• Able to introduce the basics skills of the game to a variety of mixed abilities 
• Facilitate a relaxed social environment that allows participants to connect with each other and the sport
• Able to ensure each participant achieves a sense of personal achievement every session
• Able to increase the playing confidence of all participants 
• A UKCC Level 2 or equivalent qualified coach who is part of Badminton England’s Coach Accreditation Scheme
 
Who can be an Essentials Endorsed Coach?
 
In order to become an Essentials Endorsed Coach you are required to hold a UKCC Level 2 (Or equivalent) coaching qualification and be a member of our Coach Accreditation Scheme. If you meet these requirements and are a motivated individual who is friendly, personable and passionate about coaching the badminton basics, please contact us for more information on this opportunity.
 
How do I become an Essentials Endorsed Coach?
 
You can become an Essentials Endorsed Coach by simply completing our e-learning training module that reinforces what you learnt on your UKCC Level 2 course to equip you with the skill and knowledge of the programme to deliver Essentials courses. Upon completion of the training, you will receive the Essentials Resource Pack and a T-shirt. What are the benefits of becoming an Essentials Endorsed Coach?
 
As an Essentials Endorsed Coach, you would be getting valuable experience in coaching a group of various abilities with different backgrounds and different opinions on the sport. This is a good opportunity to increase your coaching experience, improve organisation, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
