Badminton England is pleased to announce the outcome of elections at the recent 2023 AGM.
Jim Mann and Derek Batchelor have been appointed as Vice Presidents for a three-year term, whilst Mike Robinson and Peter Emptage have both been re-elected as an Elected Director of the Association on a three-year term.
As Vice Presidents, Jim and Derek will continue to showcase the great work that goes on across badminton by providing a connection between members, whilst Peter and Mike, in his role as Chair, will oversee the development of strategy and the future direction of the sport.
Badminton England Chief Executive Sue Storey thanked all four members for their continued hard work.
“Badminton England prides itself on having people that give up their time for their love of the sport and it means so much to the continued commitment of our hard working and committed group of volunteers who continually surprise me on how much they deliver for the sport we all love,” she said.
“I’m delighted to be able to continue to work with all four of these members in their respective roles, to support the sport of badminton going forward.
“It’s an honour to work with such a professional group of people across the board and across all of our vice presidents and presidents.
“The same can be said for our members who come along. They are also volunteers, and it’s a real pleasure to work with people who have badminton at the heart of every decision that they make.
“The AGM is our opportunity to come together as a family once again and look at supporting and developing the sport together.
“For us to reflect on all the successes of the past year and look forward to how we’re going to grow and develop together in the next year as a badminton family.”
The Badminton England AGM is held around June every year and is attended by the county members of Badminton England and nationwide volunteers to discuss the annual report and other statutory business that AGM’s cover..
Prior to the 2023 AGM, there was also the first consultation of Badminton England’s new strategy with an opportunity for general feedback and views.
