Badminton England is seeking an individual with significant knowledge and experience of badminton to join the Board of Directors

Badminton England is recruiting for a new director to join the Board of Directors who has the skills and experience to contribute to the future growth and success of badminton in England.

Knowledge and experience in badminton

You will understand some or all of the following key areas of badminton development:

  • The elite performance and talent pathways, including identification and development of players and coaches
  • The structures within English badminton at club, league and/or county level grass roots participation, coaching and competition
  • What makes a successful club, league and/or county badminton association

You will be passionate about wanting to contribute to the growth and success of badminton in England.

Other skills and expertise

You are likely to be a badminton player, coach, volunteer, technical official, club/league/county administrator or tournament organiser.

You will also have other relevant skills and expertise with the ability to:

  • Provide strategic insight and guidance to ensure that Badminton England achieves future growth and success
  • Be open to new ways of working that will take the sport forward
  • Have proven leadership experience, or a thirst to learn and you understand the need for Badminton England to adopt the highest standards of corporate governance
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a variety of situations

Elected Directors are voluntary positions and while the appointment will be made entirely on merit based on skills and experience, Badminton England strongly encourages and welcomes expressions of interest from candidates from ethnically diverse communities or who have a disability, where there is currently under-representation on the Board.
