Sadly, the Prime Minister’s announcement of a new set of national restrictions means that club and community badminton will cease from Thursday 5Novemberuntil Wednesday 2 December inclusive.

This is effective across junior, adult, senior and para badminton. Elite training, as defined under the governmentprotocols, will continue. Play as part of a school organised activity can also continue.

We will update our guidance once full details are available, and have already begun working on how and when we can re-open badminton as soon and as safely as possible.

For now, we can all play our part by staying at home and supporting the national effort. Nothing is more important than the safety of people in every community across the country.

We are working to make the case for all players in Tier 2 areas to be able to resume playing badminton at the first opportunity after the national lockdown is lifted in December as we are certain that our sport can be played safely in this environment.

We also plan to intensify our efforts to make the case to government for funds to be released to protect community badminton.

We will endeavour to help you remain active and entertained in the coming weeks, and we will get you back on court as soon as we can.
