Criminal Records Bureau Checks
Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks enable organisations that provide activities for children and vulnerable adults to access information to assist in recruitment decisions. BADMINTON England is a Registered Body with the CRB and is able to administer checks on behalf of affiliated badminton organisations.
CRB checks should be conducted as part of a safe recruitment process and not as the only element of recruitment. For further information on safe recruitment take a look at the Safeguarding Children and Young People Guidance

Portability of Previous Checks
BADMINTON England are not able to accept CRB Disclosure certificates from other organisations. This is on the guidance of the Criminal Records Bureau, who have ceased to offer a 'Portability' service, meaning that we are unable to be sure that we have received all of the information relevant to an individual check.

Vetting and Barring Scheme
Following the Government announcement on the 15th June 2010 the implementation of the registration process for the Vetting and Barring Scheme is on hold (previously due to start on the 26 July 2010). Click here to read the Home Office press release.
As more information becomes available we will update this page.
The existing guidance on CRB checking remains unchanged and we will continue to administer this service for member associations as before.
