Working Towards Accreditation
Once clubs have registered an interest with us, there is plenty of help available to provide clubs with the support as they work towards achieving Club Future accreditation:
Support from our trained Development Network personnel, County Badminton Associations, County Sports Partnerships and local authorities who will support club development plans and work to assist clubs to meet the relevant Club Future criteria.

Workshops to take clubs step-by-step through the processes that will enable them to work up a club development plan, understand how to ensure their club is one for all members of the community, and that they have what it takes to make it suitable for children.

Sport England and BADMINTON England will help clubs towards Clubmark accreditation, but may also need to verify the standards from time to time once it has been achieved.
The Resource Pack – this provides a detailed breakdown of the criteria as well as a comprehensive set of templates that will help develop the policies and procedures, which put clubs on the path towards accreditation.
We have also compiled our top 10 tips to get clubs well on the way to achieving accreditation. A list of Club Future Top 10 Tips is available to download here.
Achieving Accreditation
Each club that achieves Club Future accreditation will be recognised and promoted as a Club Future club and where relevant a Clubmark club. Clubmark gives clubs cross-sport recognition and nationally acknowledges status as a quality club.
Club Future – Accredited Clubs
Clubs that achieve Club Future status will be included on the BADMINTON England website. Clubmark clubs will also be included on the Clubmark website and other forms of club directories, and will be able to promote this ‘added value’ locally.
Upon achieving accreditation each club will receive a certificate from BADMINTON England and where relevant a Clubmark certificate from Sport England.
Maintaining Accreditation
Club Future accreditation for Foundation and Premier clubs (including Clubmark) lasts for 4 years. Performance Centres have their own dedicated maintenance and review schedule.
After 4 years each club will be re-assessed on all areas of the award.
Each year clubs are also asked to complete an Annual Health Check to ensure that no major changes have taken place and there has been at least one visit by the local BADMNTON England officer within the accreditation period.
Foundation Annual Health Check
Clubmark Annual Heath Check
The visit is organised by the officer looking at what has changed within the club in the past year and an update of its development plan.
Re-accredited clubs are presented with new certificates to recognise the new period of accreditation.
