The Idea
The aim is to support affiliated clubs and local leagues, by providing a fun and exciting competition appealing to club players which enhances the existing competitive provision for clubs and encourages the recruitment of more players and clubs to the BADMINTON England structure.
The Format
There have been some significant changes to the format following a review of 2008-9 and feedback from clubs. The new format will make sure teams get more than one match in the first round and target players who support their club and loacl league.
The first round will be played in groups of 3 (or 4), and depending on the size of entry seeded teams may be given a bye to the second round. Seeded teams will be placed in the draw, and other teams will be drawn at random - the draw is split into four regions so teams must expect that some travelling will be involved. The following rounds will be on a knockout basis with the top eight winning through to a finals weekend at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes, on June 12 & 13 in 2010.
| Closing Date for Entries | 30th October 2009 |
| Draw Circulated | 30th November 2009 |
| Round 1 - groups of 3 (or 4) | Played by 5th April 2010 |

Matches between clubs are played over nine rubbers of one each of men's and women's singles and two men's and two women's doubles and three mixed doubles using the 3 x 21 scoring system.
The club and players must be affiliated to BADMINTON England and support their local league. Players must have represented their club in the local league on at least two occasions to be eligibel to play in the Cup.
