In July 2014, Jon Austin was announced as Performance Director of the England and Great Britain World Class Badminton Performance Programme, a role he started in September.
This is his second stint with the national governing body after previously holding the role of Head of Performance Programmes at Badminton England.
It was an era which included a silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, and two silver medals and one gold medal at the 2006 World Championships in Madrid.
Following a three-year spell as Performance Advisor at UK Sport, Austin rejoined Badminton England from Pentathlon GB, where he had held the post of Chief Executive since 2011. He oversaw a medal-winning performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Austin started out his career as a physical training instructor with the Royal Air Force, spending eight years there until 1992 when he became a general manager for David Lloyd Leisure.
