Welcome to the Schools Badminton Pack, inspired by London 2012. With the 2012 Games just around the corner, it is the perfect time to inspire more young people into taking up badminton.
This pack is designed to be an easily accessible resource for secondary schools. Pupils will learn about what it takes to become an elite athlete, as well as learning about how they can improve their own lifestyle and become a better badminton player.
Sporting Aims
By relating the information on elite athletes directly to each pupil’s own lifestyle, this pack is easily accessible to all pupils regardless of sporting ability. The tips and advice on how to improve your badminton game and how to lead a healthier lifestyle are relevant and useful to all pupils with access to the pack.
Educational Aims
Our pack is deliberately cross-curricular in its aims, with necessary teaching and marking material provided, making it easily accessible and simple to incorporate into lessons. The pack aims to provide useful and relevant teaching aids through badminton-specific examples.
The Maths and Geography activities, in particular, focus on specific topics (such as trigonometry). Other activities such as the Nutrition section contain information designed to encourage a healthier lifestyle. Pupils will hopefully take a keener interest in a wide range of subjects as a result of some of the activities in this pack.
