Congratulations on completing your Sports Leaders UK qualification and welcome to BADMINTON England.

BADMINTON England and its affiliated clubs are reliant on the wide network of volunteers who are involved in the sport.  The wide range of opportunities make volunteering in badminton a very rewarding experience.  Keep reading to find opportunities to get involved and stay involved.

 

What volunteering opportunities are available for leaders?

There are opportunities to volunteer that can get you involved in a ‘one-off’ capacity or as a regular ‘ongoing’ role.  The list of roles if endless, however the following list might help to get you thinking about how you can get involved:

Event Leaders
Club Leaders
Activity Leaders

Organising a tournament
Event Support
Officiating e.g. line judge, scorer
Publicity
Administration
On-the-day organisation
Marshalling/officiating
Making refreshments
Co-ordinating results

Team Manager
Committee Member, e.g. Treasurer, Secretary,
Writing press releases, newsletters etc.
Managing the club’s website
Fund-raising
Decorating the club house!

Leading badminton activities in a club e.g. kid's taster sessions
Leading activities at an after-school club
Leading badminton activities in a holiday club

 

Further Training available

Further training opportunities are available to help you to develop badminton specific knowledge.

Badminton Leader Award
Helps you to develop the badminton specific knowledge to build on what you have learned through completing the Sports Leaders UK Award

Education and Training
Courses for you to train to be a coach or and official, or to develop the skills to work in schools.

Young Officials Award
Develop the skills and knowledge to get you started on the journey to being a badminton court officials or tournament organiser
