If you were found to be Not Yet Competent (NYC) or failed to attend your original assessment day, please follow these steps to be re/assessed on another course. You must apply at least 10 working days before the assessment day.
- If you are applying to be reassessed, please make sure that you have worked on the action points you were given in your last assessment.
- Locate an assessment day that you would like to attend by looking on the assessment day list at the bottom of the page.
- Complete the Reassessment form.
- Send the form and payment* to BADMINTON England, Coaching Team, National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, MK8 9LA.
- BADMINTON England will confirm by confirmation email or letter that you have been allocated a place on the assessment day. (Maximum of two additional assessments per course. There is a first come, first serve policy).
- Once you have been allocated a place on the assessment day, should you fail to attend, you will be required to pay the reassessment fee again, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
MISSED LEARNING PROGRAMME
If you missed any of the learning programme (tutoring days) you are unable to be assessed until you have completed the days you missed. You therefore need to apply to attend the missed days on another course. Please follow these steps to organise attendance on another course –
- Locate a course where you can attend the missed day/s and the assessment day by looking on the Level 1 or Level 2 course list.
- Complete the ‘Missed Learning Programme’ form.
- Send the form and payment* to BADMINTON England, Coaching Team, National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, MK8 9LA.
- BADMINTON England will confirm by confirmation email or letter that you have been allocated a place on the course.
- Once you have been allocated a place, should you fail to attend, you will be required to pay the fee again unless there are extenuating circumstances.
ASSESSMENT/MISSED LEARNING PROGRAMME FEES*
Level 1 - £25.00
Level 2 - £45.00
In cases where the original assessment day or any days of the learning programme was missed, unless there are extenuating circumstances, the fee still applies. In cases where there are extenuating circumstances, evidence must be provided (e.g. Doctor’s note) within five working days of the missed assessment.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE ASSESSMENT DAY?
LEVEL 1
Reassessment – you can use the same activity plans that you used on your initial assessment unless you were given an action point to correct or improve them. You will be required to complete a new Facility Safety Checklist if you are completing the assessment at a different venue to your original assessment. You will also need to complete a new activity evaluation after completing your assessment. This additional paperwork will be sent to you with your confirmation letter.
First assessment – if you missed your original assessment please treat this assessment day as your first assessment. You can use the same activity plans.
LEVEL 2
Reassessment - You will be asked to coach four of the external players that attend the assessment day. You can use the same session plans that you used on your initial assessment unless you were given an action point to correct or improve them. You will be required to complete a new Safety Checklist if you are completing the assessment at a different venue to your initial assessment. You will also need to complete a new activity evaluation after completing your assessment.
First assessment – if you missed your original assessment please treat this assessment day as your first assessment. You can use the same activity plans.
