Welcome to the Club Future section of the BADMINTON England website. It has been designed to provide all clubs with a dedicated, all-inclusive suite of relevant information and resources in order to become a Club Future club.
BADMINTON England’s revolutionary 10-Year strategy ‘A Decade of Delivery’ aims to position England as the best badminton nation in the world by 2016 by:
-
Winning medals
-
Increasing participation
-
Being fit for purpose
A Decade of Delivery places clubs at the top of the agenda in terms of support and activity and Club Future provides the structure to identify, nurture and deliver the Champions of tomorrow. The long term success of badminton in this country is very much dependant on a strong, vibrant network of forward thinking clubs that are accessible and welcoming, have good facilities and provide a range of coaching and competitive opportunities.
Club Future is about making a difference to clubs regardless of their size. It is about recognising that clubs have one of the most important roles in badminton in this country and how we can work together to get more people into the game and offer a quality experience for players of all ages and abilities.
BADMINTON in England: Did you know …?
-
Badminton is the no. 1 racket sport
-
Badminton is the 6th most popular sport
-
Nearly 1 million adults play badminton each month
-
15,000 young people take part in the Center Parcs National
Schools Championships
Club Future has a simple vision to:
-
Increase the number of adults and juniors playing badminton through sound playing and competitive club programmes
-
Increase the recruitment, education and development of coaches and volunteers
-
Improve the infrastructure of our club network
“For me the challenge of the culture of the clubs is one of the most exciting. It’s where people start to play, where they continue a life-long experience, where they nurture talent, where coaches are and where volunteers are. And this is where we should be embedding our competition.”
Adrian Christy, BADMINTON England Chief Executive.
