Loughborough University Research into Coaching Psychology

The team at Loughborough have recently commenced some research which investigates whether your perceptions of your coaching behaviours match your players' perceptions of your coaching behaviours. It is designed to help you and your players get ‘on the same page’ so to speak, with regards to how your coaching behaviour comes across, and will help to strengthen your coach-player relationship, and get you and your players communicating better.

The research study is very simple, will take minimal time and effort, and will not eat into any of your coaching time. Yourself and one of your players will simply answer some brief questions about coaching (which will take 2-3 minutes) before and after one of your coaching sessions.

All participants will receive feedback from the study if they wish. Hopefully these results will be interesting and beneficial to both the coaches and players. The study has been checked by the University ethics committee, participation is voluntary, and your involvement will be completely anonymous.

Further information about the research can be found by clicking here...
