New ‘GOLD STAR’ Event!!

The new 2010-11 Season will see a change in the Under 17 and Under 15 Gold tournaments, with a Gold Star event. Following recommendations from the Performance Review it has been agreed to split singles into two grades, Gold Star and Gold. This should lead to more competitive matches in all rounds for those accepted into the Gold Events

Selection of Players for the ‘NEW’ Gold Star Singles:

Players must enter the Gold Singles in the normal way, where either 18 or 12 players will be accepted into the Gold Star Singles. The number selected will normally be 18 subject to this being less than 50% of the overall singles entry. Should this not be the case then only 12 players will be accepted and if 12 exceeds 50% there will only be one grade of singles.

The remaining players will be considered for the Gold Singles on ability which is anticipated to be approximately 24 players.

The semi-finals and finals of both the Gold Star and Gold Singles will normally take place on the Sunday.
