Clark and Langridge get revenge over Ellis and Adcock in Italy

Chris Adcock and Andrew Ellis'a bid for a third successive men's doubles fina ended in disappointment in Rome tonight when new pairing Anthony Clark and Chris Laqngridge beat them  in striaght games.

Their 21-17 21-12 win agenged Sunday's final defeat in the Yonex Irish International in Dublin.

In the final tomorrow Clark and Langridge will face third seeded Russian Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov.

Adcock and Ellis were made to fight all the way to win their quarter-final against Poland's second seeds Adam Cwalina and Michal Logosz, coming from behind to win 19-21 21-16 21-19.

Clark and Langridge had less trouble beating Dutch pair Jacco Arrends and Jelle Maas 21-17 21-11.

But top seeds and Scotland winners Marcus Ellis and Peter Mills went down in three games in their quarter=final with Sweden's Joel Johansson Berg and Indonesia's Imam sodikin Irawan 21-12 13-21 21-17.

Adcock is also going strong in the mixed doubles with Imogen Bankier.

The Anglo-Scottish pair, who won the Bank of Scotland International and then the Yonex Irish International, beat Arends and Selena Piek 21-17 21-18 in the quarter-finals and toppled Lukasz Moren and Natalia Pocztowiak 21-11 21-19 to avenge Robin Middleton and Heather Olver's 21-15 25-23 defeat by the Polish pair in the quarters.

In tomorro'w final they face Bulgarian second seeds Stiliyan Makarski and Diana Dimova.

Irish runners-up and second seeds Mariana Agathangelou and Heather Olver made a disappointing exit when they fell to Poland's Malgorzata Kurdelska and Natalia Pocztowiak 21-17 21-19 in Wednesday's second round.
