More people play badminton in England than squash, table tennis or tennis, according to a report on participation levels by a leading research centre.

Bedford was treated to a highly successful display of beach badminton - beachminton - on Sunday, thanks to 130 tons of sand and England's Andy Ellis.

England have picked their squad for the 2008 UK School Games, to be held in Bath from 28th August to 1st September. The 14-strong line-up will join 1500 athletes from nine different sports at the event.
