GOSFORD HILL BADMINTON CLUB BECOME 9TH CLUB IN OXFORDSHIRE TO GAIN CLUBMARK STATUS
Following a presentation by Nicki Gilder, Oxfordshire’s Badminton Development Officer, and Steve Kemp representing the County Sports Partnership…GOSFORD HILL BADMINTON CLUB have become the 9th badminton club in Oxfordshire to be awarded with Premier Club Clubmark, an accreditation process that demonstrates a well run club offering a safe environment with development options for Juniors.

The Award was presented to Geoff Sutton who had led the Club through the Accreditation process in front of a good club turnout. Both Nicki and Steve reiterated the importance of knowing that the club had achieved Clubmark when putting it forward as a safe place for parents to let their youngsters go to.
Both the School Sports Partnership Manager; Margaret Stevens, and the City Council Sports Development Officer, Kam Raval congratulated the club on its achievement. Both are always looking for new accredited clubs to link schools and holiday programmes into, and Gosford Hill will now be on the list!. On receiving this award, Cherwell District Council were quick to approach the club in order to work together on holiday sessions within local Leisure Centres.
Following a closely supervised programme, the Club Committee members attended workshops in Club Management, Child Welfare and First Aid, all adding to the way the club is run. The club coaches also attended a professional development workshop making sure that they are fully upskilled in the latest coaching techniques. This is a fantastic achievement by a local club. Steve Kemp has worked closely with the committee supporting them through the process and rewarding them with £200.
