Saturday 15th January saw Newcastle United Foundation play host to Sunderland Foundation in a badminton festival that took place at The Parks Leisure Centre, earlier in the season Sunderland had hosted Newcastle United in a similar event that proved to be a huge success.
Rajiv Ouseph and doubles pair Gabby White and Robert Blair failed in their bids to reach the quarter-finals at the Victor Korea Open in Seoul today. Chris Adcock and Andy Ellis, England's last hopes, went out in the men's doubles late on day four.
Andy Ellis is set for his senior England debut after he was named in a strong squad for the European Mixed Team Championships in Amsterdam next month. England will be bidding to improve on their silver medal (pictured) behind Denmark in Liverpool two years ago.
